Over Flow

This short story has me up til 2am. The green tea cannot get any greener. I’m celebrating a country where I was not born, but love. I’m writing with a hangover over my shoulders. It’s how to celebrate in a young country.

I clip words that don’t belong, reroute paragraphs. Send them over cliffs and mourn for their deadening. It’s better than their hardening. Hardened words stop up the flow of thinking. And even worse, feeling.

I write about fire, the theme of themes. I write about a place I’ve never visited in a country where I was born, but suspect. Of what I’m still deciphering.

This makes me want to be at home, on the brand new couch (it’s a beauty, L shaped, comfy…) my computer on my lap, working on a story. I like the way you write. Also, I read your post about MJ, it realy got me thinking about some things. Wasn’t he so gorgeous? Damn. His downfall was his kindness.

paisley — release, let go. that’s what it’s about. :)

nana — thanks for stopping by! and thanks for your sweet words. Michael Jackson was once the most gorgeous human being, in my opinion.

    well, hello . . .

we were intrigued by your post/comment over at Floreta’s so we came to see your pad. its good. wethinx welixes! :-)

    about writing:
we find that just ranting (streaming) through a piece keeps the editor away long enough to get to the nut of a thing. there’s always time to revisit and re-edit the work later. so, we agree sometimes words ARE the obstacle to writing (or at least the SEARCH for the RIGHT word becomes the chore that kills the urge).

    hey, Happy Birthday, America,
    and keep on bloggin’

This reminded me of one of Varalakshmi Bhaskaran’s live performances where his thambura twisted me in and out of a non-linear palooza.

o’dasor de — thanks! as to writing…my favourite time is the cutting of words. slice this and that until it shines. like taking the rough material away from an emerald that shines underneath.

    cado — i’m definitely non-linear’s mistress.
